VoiceMap uses your phone's GPS to work out where you are on the route. If it thinks you're too far from the next location, it will tell you you're off route, even if you're standing in the right place. Try these steps in order:

1. Check your location settings. On iPhone, VoiceMap needs Always and Precise Location turned on. On Android, it needs Allow all the time. See Grant location permission on iOS or Grant location permission on Android.
2. Close the app fully and reopen it. Don't just minimise it. This makes sure the app picks up any change to your settings.
3. Use Get Directions. Tap Get Directions to navigate to the next location. Tall buildings and narrow streets can make your GPS position jump around, so getting to the exact spot helps the audio play.
4. Skip ahead manually. If a location still won't play, tap Next to move to the following location and carry on with your tour.
