Why are tours more expensive in the app than on the website?
1 min readWhen you buy a tour through the VoiceMap app, Google or Apple are the merchants of record and add VAT and sales taxes to the price. This is especially noticeable in Europe, where VAT is high and isn't shown as a separate line item. VoiceMap doesn't add these taxes when you buy directly on the website.
Currency also works differently in each place. In the app, prices are shown in the currency linked to your App Store or Google Play account. On the website, currency is set by your location and can be changed using the dropdown menu.
Depending on where you are, you can save money by buying tours at voicemap.me instead. Sign into the app with the same account you used on the website and your tours will be there in your Library.
