How are VoiceMap tours made?

1 min read

VoiceMap tours are made by people with a story to tell and a place to tell it in. Publishers – as we call tour creators – come from all backgrounds: journalists, historians, novelists, tour guides, street artists, and passionate locals who simply know their neighbourhood better than anyone else.

When a publisher creates a tour, a VoiceMap editor gets in touch to work with them on the script, the route, and the audio. The goal isn't to overwrite their voice, but to help them make the most of a medium most people are new to – and to make sure the finished tour works as well on the ground as it does on the page.

If you've taken a VoiceMap tour and have a story of your own to tell, you can start creating one at voicemap.me/create.
