Do I need the app to take a tour?
1 min readYes. VoiceMap tours can only be taken in the VoiceMap app. The app uses your phone's GPS to play the audio automatically as you reach each location, and that doesn't work in a web browser.
The website at voicemap.me is for browsing and buying tours. You can also preview a tour there with Listen on the Web, but it plays the audio like a podcast, not as a live walking tour.
Install the app and download your tour before you travel, while you have a good Wi-Fi or mobile connection. Many destinations have poor signal, and you won't need data once the tour is downloaded.
